Commentaires

The sculpture of the "Feuervogels" (Firebird) first appeared in 1982/1983 and, in large format and spouting water, was placed in the large fountain on the Place Igor Stravinksy in Paris next to the Centre Pompidou, which was designed jointly by Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely. In a similar design, the sculpture is called "Sun God", erected in 1983 on the campus of the University of Southern California in San Diego. The present scaled-down version followed a little later.

Erläuterungen

Die Skulptur des Feuervogels taucht erstmals 1982/1983 auf und wurde, in Grossformat und Wasser speiend, in den grossen Brunnen auf der Place Igor Stravinksy in Paris neben dem Centre Pompidou platziert, der von Niki de Saint Phalle und Jean Tinguely gemeinsam gestaltet wurde. In ähnlicher Formgebung heisst die Skulptur "Sonnengott", 1983 aufgestellt auf dem Campus der University of Southern California in San Diego. Die vorliegende verkleinerte Fassung folgte etwas später
