Commentaires

Richly elaborated drawing of the large sculpture "Chaos No. 1", which the artist designed as a commissioned work in 1973 in Columbus, Indiana, and which was completed in 1974. In addition to numerous wheels and motors, a marble run stands out, which is continuously loaded with iron balls via a conveyor belt. Equally striking is a large earth auger. The work is based on a Méta-Matic drawing executed with machine no. 8 (see stamp on the back).

Erläuterungen

Reich ausgearbeitete Zeichnung zur Grossskulptur "Chaos No. 1", die der Künstler als Auftragswerk im Jahr 1973 in Columbus, Indiana, entwarf und die 1974 fertiggestellt wurde. Neben zahlreichen Rädern und Motoren sticht eine Kugelbahn hervor, die über ein Förderband fortwährend mit Eisenkugeln bestückt wird. Ebenso markant ist ein grosser Erdbohrer. Der Arbeit liegt eine Méta-Matic-Zeichnung zugrunde, die mit der Maschine Nr. 8 ausgeführt ist (siehe Stempel auf der Rückseite)
