Condition

Strips of paper attached to the lower edge of the picture on cardboard before painting. Pierced at all four corners. Paper strip attached to the upper edge of the picture on cardboard on the reverse side. In very good condition and fresh in colour

Comments

This work shows the hamlet of Oschwand in autumnal colours, seen from the south-east. In the centre are the inn with its pyramidal roof, on the right the schoolhouse with its turret, in front the post office and behind it Cuno Amiet's studio and home built in 1908. In the background a range of hills of the Jura is visible

Erläuterungen

Das vorliegende Werk zeigt den Weiler Oschwand in herbstlichen Farben, von Südosten her gesehen. Im Zentrum stehen das Wirtshaus mit seinem Pyramidendach, rechts das Schulhaus mit dem Türmchen, vorne das Posthaus und dahinter das Atelier und das 1908 erbaute Wohnhaus von Cuno Amiet. Im Hintergrund ist ein Hügelzug des Juras ersichtlich
