Commentaires

The self-taught artist took part in the Venice Biennale in 1948 and 1956. He worked in Milan and from 1953 in his grandparents' house, the "Casa Travaglini", in Vacciago on Lago d'Orta. He produced his incomparable figurative landscapes and figure paintings until the end of the 1950s, before finally deciding in favour of abstraction in 1959.

Der Autodidakt nimmt 1948 und 1956 an der Biennale in Venedig teil. Er arbeitet in Mailand und ab 1953 im grosselterlichen Haus, der "Casa Travaglini", in Vacciago am Lago d'Orta. Es entstehen bis Ende der 1950er Jahre seine unvergleichlichen, gegenständlichen Landschaften und Figurengemälde, bevor er sich 1959 endgültig für die Abstraktion entscheidet
