Minimally browned and with an old loss of colour lower right and a small tear nail hole. On the reverse with scattered traces of colour and remnants of an old mounting. In overall good condition.

Commentaires

During the First World War, Sonia Delaunay-Terk looked for a way to earn an income and found it in the applied arts. From then on, she worked as a costume designer alongside her free art and created fabric and fashion designs. After the death of her husband Robert Delaunay in 1941, she created numerous abstract compositions that could also be used for textiles. Sonia Delaunay-Terk is credited as the co-inventor of "Orphism", which is concerned with the effect of simultaneous colour contrasts, often realised in circular formations. The sheet offered here is a very harmonious composition from the 1940s.

Minim gebräunt und mit einem alten Farbverlust unten rechts und einem Reissnagellöchlein. Rückseitig mit vereinzelten Farbspuren und Resten einer alten umlaufenden Montierung. In guter Gesamterhaltung.

Erläuterungen

Während des Ersten Weltkriegs suchte Sonia Delaunay-Terk nach Einkommensmöglichkeiten und fand sie im Bereich der angewandten Künste. Sie betätigte sich fortan neben ihrer freien Kunst auch als Kostümbildnerin und schuf Stoff- und Modeentwürfe. Nach dem Tod ihres Ehemannes Robert Delaunay entstanden ab 1941 zahleiche abstrakte Kompositionen, die auch für Textilien verwendet werden konnten. Sonia Delaunay-Terk gilt als Miterfinderin des "Orphismus", bei dem es um die Wirkung von farblichen Simultankontrasten geht, die oft in Kreisgebilden umgesetzt wurden. Das hier angebotene Blatt ist eine sehr harmonische Komposition aus den 1940er-Jahren.
