Chagall dedicated countless works to the topos of love. The lovers with a bouquet of flowers are here iconographically in the foreground, in the background under the shining sun and the rising moon, the violinist plays and happy people dance. The bouquet is a symbol of life and joy, the mystical animal on the woman's head stands for the received, artistic inspiration. The love for people in general and his life partners in particular was always an important source of inspiration for Chagall - he also "sang" about it in numerous texts. A very beautifully formulated, poetic painting

Chagall widmete dem Topos der Liebe unzählige Werke. Das Liebespaar mit Blumenstrauss steht hier ikonographisch im Vordergrund, im Hintergrund unter der leuchtenden Sonne und dem aufgehenden Mond, spielt der Geiger auf und fröhliche Menschen tanzen. Der Blumenstrauss ist ein Symbol des Lebens und der Freude, das mystische Tier auf dem Kopf der Frau steht für die empfangene, künstlerische Eingebung. Die Liebe zu den Menschen allgemein und seinen Lebenspartnerinnen im Besonderen war für Chagall stets eine wichtige Inspirationsquelle - er "besang" sie auch in zahlreichen Texten.
