On strong laid paper. Paper slightly browned at the margins. Slightly wavy at the upper margin and with traces of an old mounting at the back.
Published in a small edition in an exhibition catalogue of "Les Amis des Arts de Pau" in 1877, which contained 11 works by 11 artists. Only one copy of the catalogue has survived in public collections, in which the etchings figure (now in the Frick Art Reference Library, New York), but the sheet by Degas is missing.

Auf festem Bütten. An den Blatträndern im Papier leicht gebräunt. Am oberen Blattrand leicht gewellt und rückseitig mit Spuren einer alten Montierung
Erschienen in kleiner Auflage in einem Ausstellungskatalog von "Les Amis des Arts de Pau" 1877, der 11 Arbeiten von 11 Künstlern enthielt. Vom Katalog hat sich in öffentlichen Sammlungen nur ein Exemplar erhalten, in dem die Radierungen figurieren (heute in der Frick Art Reference Library, New York), doch das Blatt von Degas fehlt
